T-shaped welded steel pipe for oil transportation is a type of steel pipe specially used for transportation pipelines in the oil and natural gas industry. Due to its special welding process and material characteristics, this kind of steel pipe can adapt to oil transportation in long-distance, high-pressure and highly corrosive environments.

T-shaped welding technology has rapidly increased the output of large-diameter steel pipes. According to the material of the coiled pipe, it can be divided into carbon steel coiled pipe, low alloy coiled pipe, high alloy coiled pipe, stainless steel coiled pipe, etc. It can produce steel pipes with diameters above 500 and wall thickness below 150. Coiled pipe products are widely used in petroleum, chemical industry, natural gas transportation, piling and urban water supply, heating, gas supply and other projects. The main detection method for coiled pipe is ultrasonic flaw detector. 1. There should not be more than two longitudinal welds on the same barrel section of coiled pipe. 2. The butt welds of rolled pipes should be assembled until the inner wall is flush. When the nominal diameter is larger than the nominal diameter, it is advisable to perform back-sealing welding inside the pipe. During the pipe rolling process, surface damage to the plate should be prevented.

Technical requirements: The size, shape, weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, coatings, marks and quality certificates of steel pipes should all comply with specific industry standards, such as SY/T 5037-2000 standards.

Non-destructive inspection: The repair welds of steel pipes, steel strip butt welds and circumferential welds should be inspected by X-ray or ultrasonic to ensure the quality of the welds.

Appearance quality: The surface of the steel pipe shall be free of cracks, scars, folds and other defects whose depth exceeds the nominal wall thickness deviation.

Size and weight: The size and weight of steel pipes should comply with relevant standards. For example, the GB/T 21835-2008 standard stipulates the size and unit length weight of welded steel pipes.

Special requirements: For steel pipes used in pipeline transportation systems in the oil and gas industry, there are two product specification levels (PSL1 and PSL2). These requirements include the chemical composition of the material, mechanical properties, non-destructive testing, dimensional deviations, etc.

National standards: The production and use of steel pipes for petroleum transportation must also comply with national standards, such as GB/T 9711-2023 and GB/T 9711-2011. These standards cover the manufacturing requirements for steel pipes used in pipeline transportation systems in the oil and gas industry.

Scope of application: In addition to the transportation of oil and natural gas, this type of steel pipe is also suitable for common low-pressure fluid transportation pipelines such as water, sewage, air, and heating steam.

Repair and grinding: Defects on the steel pipe, such as weld reinforcements, misaligned edges, etc., are allowed to be ground or repaired, but the repaired steel pipe should be re-tested for hydrostatic pressure.
